Area Description
Abingdon-on-Thames is a lovely old Market Town with continuous historic and archaeological connections over three millennia. There is still a Monday Market established well before 1328 and traditions of the past are very much alive in Abingdon through its Annual Michaelmas Hiring Fair and its custom of bun throwing. Abingdon was the proud home of MG sports cars and remains the home of the MG Car Club. The town of Abingdon is moving forward after trebling its size during the last 40 years.
