A resilient market

Despite continued uncertainty across the global economy, the Oxfordshire property market remains resilient, with some reasons for buyers and sellers to feel optimistic. The Government has recently announced plans to modernise the home moving process, introducing measures designed to reduce delays, minimise fall-throughs and make buying and selling property quicker, simpler and more secure. Proposed changes include upfront property information packs, greater use of digital technology and earlier legal commitments, all aimed at creating a smoother experience from offer through to completion.

Buyer confidence is also being supported by improving mortgage affordability. Recent reductions in interest rates, together with lenders offering more competitive products, are encouraging more people to enter the market. Across Oxfordshire, we’re continuing to register motivated buyers looking to upsize, relocate and secure their next family home, while first-time buyers remain active as affordability continues to slowly improve.

With the highest number of homes available on the market for two and a half years, buyers have greater choice than they have enjoyed for some time. This makes realistic pricing more important than ever, but well-presented homes that are correctly priced continue to generate strong levels of interest and achieve excellent results.

Looking ahead, the outlook remains encouraging overall. Lower borrowing costs, positive Government reforms and consistent buyer demand all point towards a more stable and active market in the second half of the year. For homeowners considering a move, conditions remain favourable with committed buyers actively looking in all price ranges across Oxfordshire.
